Have you seen students lack the confidence to interact with one another?

“They have been very kind and patient with each other and are proactive in making sure all classmates are included.”

Are group discussions and projects hard to get started because people have lost their social skills?

“While it is still early in the year to gauge students’ attitudes towards school, so far, they all seem very happy to be back to full time school!”

Are masks affecting the way students learn?

“Yes, masks have affected the way students learn, one because the kids here at Lenape are so little and the masks can be a cause for distraction. But also because the kids who are on the quieter side, tend to not speak up as much as they would have if they weren’t wearing masks. So a sense of communication is lost.”

In what ways has COVID been a negative effect on students and how has it been positive?

“We’ve noticed an improvement in many skills including patience, communication and even vocabulary! Parents also had many valuable lessons to teach their kids while they were all home during covid!”
